No surprise. It means I can put off not doing any training for another 12 months,

Shame but not surprising. Do you all get automatically entered into 2021? I wanted to try to enter next year but if everyone is automatically re-entered there's no chance of any places in 2021. (Selfish I know but racing bikes is selfish)

Your entry is automatically deferred to the next event which is in 2022. You can get a refund if you request it.

Bad news with a silver lining

The good news for me is that I can over indulge at Xmas with a clear conscience for the first time in 15 years. Even better, the kids can't come home and eat all the pudding before I get to it. 🙂

Its a double edge sword, on the one hand Im disappointed I can't go, on the other I am slightly relieved I don't have to ride around in the cold and wet for (a proportion of) 24 hours again, at least until 2022. Maybe I should just do alternate years....

It's well timed - I had still been training for it and usually mid-November is when I start taking it way too seriously (hill reps, intervals, cadence training, all that nonsense). I was out on a normal moderately hard ride yesterday and wondering if I should start doing all the **** stuff next week.

I'll be sad to miss it as we had a really pretty fast team put together and I think we were in with a shout of a top 5, but I'll also be glad to not take this winter seriously. Normally I do one year on, one year off but had entered for 2021 having done 2020 since all the other races were cancelled.

That's the position I was in, I was starting to ramp things up this week but have now switched focus to the Loch Ness 360 in May 21. So, steady riding / laying down a base again until March 21.

I might have a go at that. That hill out of Fort Ogg is a swine if you've been a bit over enthusiastic on the way down.
