Getting a new car and it will be a while before I can get a tow bar for my bike rack. So has anybody used a strap on(fnah fnah) rack with a 25kg e-bike? I’m sure I have used such racks with two bikes which must weigh as much but it seems a big lump. Any suggestions for a sturdy enough rack?

I would suggest you Google the Roofbox Company , go to bike racks, put in your new car and look up what fits.
Neither my current car or the previous one would take a strap on rear rack.
