Hi - the 2004 revelation on my boys 2nd hand full sus is pretty knackered - leaking oil, badly worn stantions and not smooth at all. I did a basic lowers service on it a while ago but it didn't help for long. So I'm looking to replace.

Looking second hand has shown slim pickings and as has been mentioned 2nd hand prices are off the scale atm.

Does anyone know if there's a budget but half decent air fork available new? Doesn't need to be the most sophisticated damping as he's doing normal 12 yr old stuff not flying around BPW but I'd like to avoid adding lots of weight. I think those rockshox silver/gold efforts are coil forks?

1 1/8th straight steerer
140 - 150mm - poss get away with 130mm
15mm axle

Funnily enough I’ve just posted on another thread about it - one of the only straight steerer forks I found a couple of years ago was the Suntour Epixon. I think you can get it in a model that’s internally adjustable and can go up to either 130mm or 140mm travel. You’ll need to have a dig around to find one - but Starbike in Germany have some in certain sizes.

You may find some lower end Rockshox Recons with straight steerers but whether they go up to 140mm travel I don’t know.

Also the Manitou Marvel might be available with a straight steerer too.

RSF have just started a service pressing straight steerers into tapered crowns.

Try a wanted ad, there's probably lots of people with an old Fox 32 or similar lying around in the back of their garage.

I have two or three sets of forks in my spare parts collection but unfortunately none are what you are looking for.

Suntour still do some in 1 1/8th so I'd be googling them first. My mate got some and they're decent, comparable to Rockshox Sektor and the like.

Suntour seems to be 100mm generally and F1rst are QR.
Thanks for all the advice and I'll keep an eye out on classifieds (if I can work it!) here and pinkbike.

They do replaceable steerers (and from memory pretty cheap to replace)... rather than pressed

@pedlad Just keep the option to stick in a external 1.5 lower headset and you'll have way more choice.

It's an onld Orange 5 with a straight steerer tube so I think this rules out changing the headset to 1.5"
TFT will service the fork for £99+carriage but without guarantee due to the station wear..might be the lesser of two evils...
