Anybody on here pre-ordered one and if so how’re you building it up? I’ve mailed Andy a couple of times about them. Contemplating building one up if spare frames are still available. It would be my only bike and be used for pretty much everything. Seems mental for a one bike choice but, **** it, I love the look of it and miss the Speedball. It just looks like fun personified. Talk me in to (or out of) it.

Looks like a hoot, anything 29+ tends to be a riot.

Do it.

My Scrambler will be going to make way for my Dirtbomb.

It’ll be full 29”+, 10 speed, dropper, decent brakes and so on.

The only question for me is the bars as with the Scrambler over struggled with the large sweep on the bars. I started with Junkers and then Motos but have been happier with a conventional sweep (highish) riser and I’ll probably try that first on the new frame.

I loved the Junker bar on my Speedball. Just seemed to put my arms in a more relaxed position. What sort of riding will you be using it for?

It’ll be the sole hardtail (Flaremax being the other bike) for woodsy trails and wotnot. The different hand position didn’t feel like a benefit and out of the saddle on climbs my hands felt under rather than in front of me.

Waiting (semi patiently) for mine.....it will be in addition to a fat bike and an FS. I had a mk2 Stooge a while ago and have always missed it a bit. I also ran a 29+ Krampus for a bit which was fun and probably similar to the Dirtbomb.

I have two sets of wheels and will see what works best / what mood I'm in: 29+ Mulefuts with 3" DHF/Chronicle or WTB KOM i29 with 2.6" XR4/XR2. Full 29+ is probably the way, despite the weight!

I'll be running 1x11 SLX and some 'normal' riser bars rather than Stooge bars.

Thanks for the input. Would be great to see pictures of your builds when done. More importantly what colour frame have you both opted for? The mustard one just looks right to me. Would be nice with a silver headset and seat collar. Not that I’ve been day dreaming about it or anything.

Mustard for me! Something a little different to the usual colours. The ochre Scrambler looked great 😁

I was considering silver parts but will probably stick with black...

On the verge of mailing Andy back to see if there are any mustards still going spare. Have a budget of around £1.5k so should be able to build something nice with used bits 🧐
