I bought a Stooge MK2 off here last year and I bloody love it, such a giggle.  However, the one thing that would make it better would be more modern geometry, particularly top tube length, so am seriously considering buying a MK7.

All well and good so far, barring spousal approval, but drooling over the Stooge website I drifted onto the Speedbomb.  Ooo, that looks nice … the ‘gas tank frame bag’ look is pretty cool.

I’ve spent a while pouring over the site in a porn addiction style but beyond a couple of mm here, an odd degree there and slight difference in tyre sizes, I can’t see a massive difference between the two beyond the visuals.

So help me.  Is there something I’m blatantly missing?  Has anyone here ridden both and can offer a thought?

An email to Andy Stevenson will be sent at some point prior to an order being placed, but I figured I may as well go for semi and none qualified opinions first! 😀

Best bet is to jump on the facebook owners group and have a chat to the folks that own multiple stooges and can give their opionions and experience.

Facebook?  Is that still going? 😷

Good idea.  I’ll take my question there too.

I have found an active Stooge group on Facebook. If any one has a link that would be of interest to me

Are you looking for a group Ampthill or you’re on a group?

if you’re looking, this seems reasonably active.  If you’re on it, see you there! 😁

I just built up a Dirt Tracker. It's ace. it looks like the geometry of DT's and speedbomb, dirt bomb were pretty similar barring the extra age on the DT fork. The Mk series was reasonably different and was designed around 27.5 wheels whereas I think Andy has reduced the gap between the two sets of models if that makes sense. It seems like they are more similar but the mk7 has more standover and shorter chain stays IIRC. Lots of advice on that FB page.

Yes that’s what i was looking for. No idea how i missed it

It’s weirder than i thought. I had partly filled in the form to join. I might have been rejected as i said i was going to but a Rambler rather then owning one

 I’m not in

If you're anywhere near Sheffield, you're welcome to test ride my dirtbomb, which I believe is the same geometry as the speed bomb and is great...

It's set up on the large side - 70mm stem, 840mm bars, 180mm dropper but I could pop a shorter stem on it if that would help you get a feeling for them.
