All

I had my Orange Patriot stolen from the in-law's garage in Didsbury last Thursday. Since posting on here, it was spotted yesterday beingng ridden on Edge Lane between Chorlton and Stretford, which has given my a slither of hope that I might still be able to get it back.

Can anyone in the area keep their eyes open, and direct message me if they spot it. The guy from yesterday said the 800mm Renthal bars stood out a mile.

I've attached a link to a photo. Very unique spec with black Rockshox Totems, Cane Creak Double Barrel shock, zee mech, xtr shifter.

Any help is massively appreciated

Ryan

I'm just off Kings Rd at the Edge Lane end so I'll also keep 'em peeled for you.

Hope you're reunited soon.

Cheers, and also thanks for the thoughts on the Insurance. The in-law's policy was direct with AXA, and I reviewed their policy document which was pretty black and white in that it said Bicycles are an excluded item from the Garage contents covered by the insurance.

Nonetheless they called AXA direct to discuss the break in and what claim could be made. In response they were pretty much quoted their insurance policy back to them, along with the sentiments 'As clearly stated in your policy at .....'.

So it's back to the search......

I cycle round there quite a bit will keep a look out.
Could be worth letting the bike shops nearby know, there's the Bike Barn at Jacksons Boat and Cycle Logic in Chorlton.

I'll keep an eye out too as I'm not too far away. I'd add withington cycles to your list of shops too as it could be the kind of a shop they try to flog it to. The owner's a good bloke and into his downhill so I'm sure he'd be keen to reunite it with its owner!

Will keep an eye out too. We spend a lot of time around there and near the meadows.

Cheers for keeping an eye out. I just spent 2 hours looping round Stretford, Chorlton and Moss Side in the car but as you'd expect I didn't spot it.

Not too sure exactly when the search party gets called off on something like this - I think there is at least a 50% chance it'll be in the area for a few days. I'm doing daily Internet trawls too, for what it's worth.

My mates Scott Genius was nicked from Sale, and seen being ridden about over 12 months later.

If you're not insured, then the hunt never ends 😀

I would call in to the staton that covers that area and speak to the local Pcso, they are out all the time
Take some pics on of the bike and give them out to them cos they won't have a clue what totems etc are

Easygirl

I've reported it and shared photos at the time. An mtbing copper from the local station separately got in touch with me from posting on a forum, who I again have shared photos with. I've since emailed them again yesterday following the sighting, and they're resharing the info with their colleagues - sounds like a few of them are mtbers and I can't fault their assistance.

Scaled - I fear you are right!

Ken Fosters bike shop is nearby, worth popping in with a pic and asking them to keep a look out.
