North Edinburgh (leafy trinity)
Probably isolated but worth a reminder to folks
woke up this morning, left the flat, walked past the row of garages attached to t flat to see what looked to be my motorbike outside my garage.
But it couldnt be, because it was in the garage yesterday. took a while for the penny to drop
garage had been turned over!!!
few tools taken, but the main thing gone was the mtb!!!
It was squeezed between the motorbike and the wall, so they had gently wheeled the motorbike out, put it on its side stand nicely parked and effed off with the bike.
Was out on it on Sunday, with it on the back of the car, I always look for cars/people following me close to home and spidey sense didnt pick up on anything. but they must have. previous time before this that the bike was out was july last year.
b'strds
so if anybody happens to see said bike anywhere id appreciate any info, not expecting it to be returned tbh
even had it stealthed up, with inner tubes wrapped round the frame covering the brand, model etc
hopefully my insurance is new for old, I know i know im already bracing myself for it not to be
18 garages between two blocks of flats, thought i heard some noise in the middle of the night, but didnt quite register.
Only my garage violated, had a garage defender on it, of course zero use against the batter powered angle grinder
🙁
gets worser!!
2 bikes and hand tools stolen, the scrotes tried to hot wire the motorbike too, thankfully the battery was/is flat
boy and girl in blue have been, no other bikes stolen last night so obviously been targeted.
feel quite shit about it all.
Horse has bolted and all that but will look to get an alarm fitted and fit another garage defender thing, but just kind know they will be back one day.
only up and over garage door for access, not sure what else can be done.
Ground anchor, but given they sliced through the exterior security feels futile, the two "good" bikes were chained to the motorbike.
There were 3 other old/low value bikes not touched
juankers
Have you got any pictures of the bikes?
I'll keep an eye out for them in the Tweed Valley area.
Thanks for that,
not holding out much hope though

luddite with IT and all that, have tried to post images, but only seems to be via the link thing
That sucks, hopefully you have some luck recovering the bikes. Garage security can only do so much.

I'm just round the corner so I'll keep an eye out. Try the guys at the Electric Bike Company that used to be on Granton Rd but moved over to Crewe Toll. They buy 2nd Hand bikes but they look out for stolen ones. My mate got his bike returned by them a few years back!
