Sorry to report that my bike was stolen on the 26/08/2011. It is essentially the whole bike (minus the forks and shocks as I had taken them off to send away for servicing). This was stolen in the Chertsey (Surrey) area, if anyone sees any parts that might be from this bike please let me know (pretty unlikely I know but worth mentioning anyway)

On a side note, does anyone know of any online shops that sell Specialized frames (just the frame as opposed to a full bike)? I am trying to pull together a list of costs to replace it and that would really help.
Usually only the S works frames are sold on their own? The customer service is good from specialized I give them a call? Can your insurance not cove a new frame inc shock??

They can indeed, however I am going the root of providing them costs for all the various different parts and getting them to pay out money instead of replacement item. So am trying to work out how much it would cost to replace the frame. I think you are right about only selling the S works frames seperately, which is a little higher up the range than the one that was stolen unfortunately.

There's a bunch of things you can do. First, ask Surrey police to tweet the theft. Set up gumtree and eBay searches for the frame, cranks and whichever bits are a bit individual. Print out a description and physically take a copy to each bike shop in your area - they do care and they may see your frame or other bits. And keep looking - if the thieves are smart, they'll not try to sell it for a month or so.
And install some better security before you build its replacement.
Just a thought: it might be cheaper to buy a whole new bike, swap over whatever is best, and then sell the parts that you don't need.

I'm pretty local to there so will keep an eye out. Where was it stolen from? Shed? Garage?

Yeah it was taken from my shed, annoyingly this is the second bike that has been stolen from my shed in just over a year. After the last one got stolen I had increased the security, unfortunately due to various reasons they were not all in place when it got stolen this time 🙁 The bike was in a few bits as had taken the forks and shock off to send away for servicing.
I will be printing out descriptions and pictures of the bike to take to the LSBs. Fingers crossed we get somewhere with that.
Was going to say it would be fairly easy to identify with that tower of a steerer you've got poking out from that stem, but if the forks are off for service..
Best time for it to get nicked I guess, with two of the most expensive parts away for servicing. Still sucks big time though, bad luck. Hope you get it all sorted.
Well since that picture was taken the steerer has in fact been cut down a bit as well so not quite so easy to spot! The forks not being on the bike should actually mean that the cost of the bike comes in just under the limit for the insurance. Fingers crossed all goes well with them, we shall see.
Total fitness bath and bike scene is guisborough both often sell older model spesh frames on their own. Might be worth giving them a call
Thanks, you are right. They have a 2009 frame which is the newest I can find.
