Any thoughts on where's best to get a mountain bike service done in Stockport?

Read a thread on Stockport shops from two years ago and seem to remember the following:

Bullock Bikes (Hazel Grove)
Poynton bike shop
North West Bikes in Cheadle
Woodsons

(Don't really want to travel further than these guys).

Thanks

I've been hearing about general poor service from friends who used north west mountain bike centre recently. Nothing major , just things like jobs taking several days longer than originally quoted, and then the full list of work not being completed because they didnt have the time etc etc.

So maybe give them a miss?

I still go there for parts and they're always friendly, but their service may be slipping a bit on repairs & servicing.

Went to North West recently for a hope press fit BB, good price, good communication, turned around quickly.

Bike Smithy...first choice

i stopped using Northwest MTB ages ago..
I think they became a victim of there own success and repairs took forever. In fairness it made me learn how to do it myself.

Woodsons is the one in Edgeley isn't it.. If it is I've tried them and they weren't great..

North west are great in a pinch.

I dashed in there for a new rear wheel (yeah, laugh you lot) on the morning of a race, none in stock so they built me one while I waited and drank their coffee. Top lads. Turned out cheaper than the equivalent from CRC as well.

Twixhunter - yes A6 Hazel Grove. On the left if you are travelling up towards High lane. Carpark around the back.
