This looks great doesnt it? Whats the name of the trail? http://m.pinkbike.com/video/396239/
No sign of pebbles either 8)
It's the old "red" DH run at Stile Cop isn't it?!
Looks like it, yes. doesn't seem that long when riding down it though.
Yes its the Red run. Some sections are covered in pebbles when the ground dries out but we resurfaced a few sections last year, just for you Hora.
Oh and the end bit is top of Ridgeline.
Not shown is the push up 🙂
Cheers scruff. I'll pay my carparking and put some money on the cafe this Sunday 🙂
There are plenty of pebbles on the mid section after the first drops. Some of them a quite big judging by the egg sized deep dent in my hat from an unscheduled impact last October.
How do you get to Stile cop from Cannock?
I drive down from Nottingham in a car.
yorkshire89 - do you mean from Cannock the town or the Chase Trails loops?
Nearest postcode is WS15 1ND.
From Monkey trail ride Upper Cliff (lower cliff is shut ATM) turn right after stinky pond and either
-continue up to tarmac crossroads and take a sharp L on distinct trail which leads you to the top of the DH trails
-or go up past stinky pond then L into Miflins valley which leads you to the bottom.
There are currently forestry works going on some lower sections at Stile Cop.
See http://www.chasetrails.co.uk/directions/
You can also access it from the Monkey, when you get to the start of the Lower Cliff section (currently closed) go right up the forest road, slight uphill, as you go round the right hand bend look for a bridleway on the left. Go down BW and keep heading downhill and you pass the lower part of Stile Cop on the right.
Thanks, from the trails I meant. I tried to find it last time I was there and the postcode took me somewhere in the middle of nowhere.
I didnt realise it was on the chasetrails website 😳

Great potential for me to get lost here. If I plug WS15 1ND into the satnav it'll take me straight there/easy to locate from there and could look at the monkey trails etc from there too?
No the postcode will take you to the nearest building which is a cemetery 8)
Ride the Monkey (watching out for pebbles) then after Lower cliff stop & ask someone. If you want to drive there there follow the directions on Chase Trials website. Oh and dont crash on the 3rd drop, needing an Ambulance to come out to you. Its an easy DH trail but its still a DH trail and I've had to scrape a fair few people off the floor.
If you want to get on the Monkey from Stile Cop its pretty easy, just ask someone there who speaks Yam Yam.
Park in the car park on Stile Cop Rd. You can then access the downhill trails 100 yards down the road on the opposite side.

It's a little awkward getting on the Monkey once you're done as the closest part of the Monkey (Lower Cliff) is currently closed. You'll have to follow Scruff's directions in reverse, follow the diversion down to the pumping house but then turn left to do the Monkey, it won't be naturally sign posted as such as you'll be entering it from the wrong way/side of sorts.
Strapped for time as I had in law/hora jnr etc in car so I did follow the dog and as I crossed the road I spotted a cheeky. Bloody long and lovely...isn't it? Short loose climb back up at the end to rejoin FTD.
