I've got a new SRAM X5 rear mech only two rides on it but the jockey wheels are very stiff. Any way to sort this or is a duff one?
Take it off and have a look, it might just be a wee bit clogged up.
done that nothing wrong with it as far as I can see, nice and clean too?
even inside the jockey wheels? My x9's I had to strip them a few times each winter to get the cack out from under the silver plate in the centre of the wheel itself? Now running shimano no issues ever.... 8) wont be going back!!
my x9 completely ceased a few weeks ago, took apart, cleaned and greased it, and its been fine since
As above, mine was overtight (X9) so there was a big squeeze stopping them from running.
I have an X9 on one of my bikes, like the mech, hate the crappy little bearings in the jocky wheels.
Funny coincidence as I had to strip, clean and lubricate one of the jockey wheels from my X0 mech yesterday as it had ceased up. First time it has happened in about 100 rides on that mech.

bit of a bargain at £12.95 instead of £30 for the Sram parts. Haven't fitted them yet. Anyone else tried them?
I have been using BBB in Shimano for years and they are excellent.
Friends have used them in SRAM with no issues after early failure of the standard jockeys in X9 mechs.
Given the massive price rise in XT/XTR jockey wheels recently and the SRAM sealed bearing ones always being expensive, BBB have a certain bargain on their hands.
I get mine from Dotbike;
