Just saw a post on facebook that the STIF store has been broken into overnight and there's a fairly lengthy list of bikes that have been taken.

Jesus, it's relentless isn't it.
Absolute a holes. I detest thieves of all varieties.
Hope the shop can get sorted quickly as they're an ace bunch down there.
Nothing but oxygen stealing scumbags. It'll get to the point where bike shops will not stock high end bikes any more as the insurance will be too much. It'll be bikes to order which is not ideal.
People need to stop buying obviously stolen bikes - otherwise thieves will just keep at it with the thefts.

I would guess that a lot of them aren't sold as complete bikes but are broken down & the components that are much harder to trace sold off.
Would probably get more money for them that way too.
If you binned the frame from a £5k bike (only thing which has an identifying number on it) how much could you sell the parts for?
With forks selling for closer to £1k and shocks not far behind you’d make a decent amount of cash selling those, then sell all the expensive parts such as dropper posts, pricey drivetrains, fancy wheels and Carbon bits and you’d have £2.5k in the bank pretty easily maybe?
Its not hard to see how the crime can pay very well. ☹️
Yes unfortunately I should imagine they will be split and the parts sold off. As mentioned above there's some serious money to be made and at this time of year unsuspecting buyers probably purchase them as presents.
Sad news indeed 😳

Do you have any evidence that people are?
Most likely situation, as above, is that bikes are being stripped and components sold for good money on eBay.
Many of us bargain hunters have probably bought such items before, unwittingly of course, if you think about it.
