Got my mates bike here for some sorting...
Yesterday was headset, shock bushings, frame bearings, brake bleed, pads, chain, mech... (yes i know, took about 4 hours).
Anyway his reverb is sticky beyond words... i think it's a bit 'dry' potentially rather than a bleed issue. I assume there's some sort of foamy o-ring inside there that could do with a wipe, clean, lube ? But i've never owned a reverb so never had to do anything with one before (other than bleeding this one for him once upon a time.)
Anything quick and easy i can do ? Preferably something that won't require a bleed as i'm not sure i have any reverb fluid here.

Have you checked the air pressure?
What should it be please ?
250psi.
But it could be version dependent. See: https://www.servicearchive.sram.com/sites/default/files/techdocs/gen.0000000005341_sm_2013-2018_reverb_stealth_a2_b1_english_rev_c.pdf.
FWIW, mine used to get slower and then stop working - lever bleed always fixed it. (Finally properly fixed by replacing with Wolftooth cable đŸ™‚

From memory - 250psi. It may be written on the head of the post.
There's also a return speed adjuster on the remote.
What should it be please ?
250 psi, could be low pressure, could need a remote bled, or could need new bushes (they are PTFE covered metal, once the PTFE comes off, it’s metal to metal on the shaft)
Well it was at 140psi and i've given it 250.
I also removed the collar as per Doddys reverb service but he says about the bushing that comes out for a clean, but i can't get that... Post is deffo better than before i started, but i think ideally it needs a proper service too, thanks all though.
Bottom bushes are prone to disintegrating first. This causes play & can lead to the post feeling rough. The bottom of the post has air vents & a felt filter which allow air to be displaced when the post is compressed. If the bike ever becomes inverted the accumulated grot & water in the seat tube can end up in the felt. From there it's only a matter of time before its inside the post beside the lower bush & sealhead.
Might be worth a strip & rebuild to see what's causing the problem.
YEah it won't be me doing it as it's not my bike... i'll take it back to him and give him the info, what he does with it is up to him đŸ™‚
Sounds like it needs a sliding parts service. Can be done without accessing and oil parts.
You could try rubbing a bit of fork oil around the seals. I have a pot of old Fox Float Fluid from when I could be bothered to service everything myself. Now when I clean the bike I rub a bit around the shaft of fork/shock/dropper and bounce it to move the oil across the seals. Does wonders for stiction and usually moves a bit of grit out.
Agree with the above though - probably needs a bleed at least.
