Just seen that Dave Garland of Stendec sadly died a couple of years ago.
Does this mean that Stendec suspension fluids closed or did someone carry on his good work? I can't find anywhere selling it so I'm guessing it did close.
When I bought my Smashpot it was Stendec I got to go with it. Couple of years ago mind. Maybe email BC Suspension in Grantown on Spey, to see if they still have any.Â
Sadly stendec no longer exists.
Hey 🙂
I am Mirka Garland. I am relaunching Stendec Ltd for 2024 and doing the oils and grease again. I had continued for awhile after my husband's passing, but took a break. It has just been the third year since Dave left us. I feel it is the time to continue his legacy.
You can email me missmirks@gmail.com. Watch for a new website www.stendecsuspension.com
I have a few jars of grease here as well as a little oil. All weights will be available soon. We are coming out with a new design on the bottle which will be a tribute by our dear friend Morgan Mallett (was also my maid of honour at our wedding). She and her husband Corey made a sign that is up on Upper Oil Can, a trail on Fromme in North Vancouver that I sponsor in honour of Dave through the NSMBA.
Happy trails.
I'd somehow missed that that was the reason I couldn't find it available, it was my go-to for a long time for fork servicing. Would definitely order if it became available again. Props for looking to continue the legacy forward.
Great stuff bitd. Would be great to see a comeback and would suit a set of Dorado pro carbons nicely.
My pot of stendec I bought years ago is nearly empty so this is good news
Hi @mirks really sorry to hear about your husband, I had no idea that's why Stendec closed down.
Hope the business goes well for you, Stendec was always my go-to for oils!
