Dropped a clanger today and bought some used forks for my frame however the steerer is to short, can I buy a shallow stem and a headset that is thinner?
Currently has a raceface headset and a thomson stem on a Devinci spartan
Cheers

I picked up a set of 2018 fox 36s cheap as the steerer was pretty short, have bought a DMR defy stem which has a 30mm stack height. Ragley stubbing stem is about the same height, not available in 35mm clamp which I needed though.

The Funn funduro stem has a low stack height, 32mm.

Ragley stubbing stem is 30mm - shortest stack height I know of

How much too short is the steerer?

What headset is currently fitted? If it has the conical type top cap then you could maybe see if you can get something flat which would save a few mm too.

Thanks guys, the headset is an FSA orbit zero stack and has a conical type top cap so could shave a few mm?
Any suggestions on headset?
