I know this has maybe been done to death, but I would appreciate advice on which company to choose for a 1990's steel road bike frame wet paint respray. I had decided on Colour-Tech but can't get a response to emails. So the other possibilities are:
Bob Jackson
Ellis Briggs
Argos
Looking for a quality/ resilient finish over price. Looking at reviews it appears Argos seem to be the best thought of?
Ellis Briggs did my classic steel road bike. I went with pearlescent ruby, and it looked amazing. I was happy with the job they did and the turnaround time.
A friend of mine has used Argos and they were great too. I've no experience of Bob Jackson though. Which one is closest to you?
Argos did an old steel road bike of mine many years ago. Needed a seatstay replacing so they cut that tube out, replaced it and resprayed the whole frame in the original 2-colour fade. Brilliant job - unless you really looked closely you couldn't even see it had been repaired. The paint was thicker and better quality than the original factory job too.
Argos also resprayed an aluminium MTB of mine that went back for warranty repair. The brand did the necessary on the frame and sent it to Argos with a bunch of their transfers so Argos did all the repaint work on that. Again, excellent job (that was just a one-colour respray).
If you want something a bit more unusual, I've seen some very cool stuff from this lady:

+1 for Argos; they did an Indy Fab steel deluxe for me including removal of EBB grub screw bosses from underside of BB shell.
Only comment would be that the respray has now obscured the frame number which was stamped on underside of BB shell.
Argos it is then! Thanks for the replies.
