I'm lucky to have a selection of bikes, all with very specific purposes, mostly related to the local type of riding. However after moving house last year whats local is a bit different (less bog and sand, more normal trails!)

So I could really do with a 'normal trails' kinda bike. Something with a bit of suspension to help my ageing bones - although its still pretty flat around here, so nothing too LLS needed.

In keeping with other bikes I'd like it to be steel and a bit niche, but able to take proper B+ (3" tyres on 40 or 50mm rims) and have 100-120mm forks.

Keeping my eye out for a Mk3 Stooge (I've already got a Speedball which is great for longer adventures, want something more for hooning round the local woods).

Anything else I should consider?

My mate is selling one of these. In fact I think it's the actual one used in these photos

Super niche (a few were built as a new lineup in the range but never made it as a production model) and very, very nice.

I'll add another Tarn recommendation, I've had mine for four years now. In that time I've ran with/without suspension, 29er/B+, it's been to trail centres, the peak district, the lakes and covered a fair few miles with one of my girls either on the macride or both of them in the trailer.

If you can find a new of s/h one, Singular Swift would be all of these.
Rear is maybe more like 2.8" clearance than full 3" (but latest model may come closer).
