Heading north.
We need somewhere close to the M1 to break up a late journey. Can you Recommend any ok value hotels or b&b? Trying to avoid obvious, but soulless, option of Premier Inn Notts West.

Lots of options around Sherwood Forest and it's hardly even a diversion, as you then come straight onto the nice new bits of the A1M to continue North.

Come off M1 at J24 and a couple of mile down the A50 to Chellaston (outskirts of Derby)
Just off the A50 is the Lawns Hotel, my local, it's a small hotel/bar/restaurant
You can then go straight down the A6 onto the A52 and rejoin M1 at J25 so not so much out of the way
