Hi, I'm looking at a secondhand switchback 18" MK2 and wondering if the size is right for me. I'm just over 5'9 with a 32" inseam. The Reach and Seat tube are similar-ish to my old Yeti ASR5 (medium), but the Stanton guide puts me on a 16.5" frame.
This will be my first hard tail for a long time so I'm not sure what i'm after with regards to fit.. I found the yeti a little short as a full suss but it seems some people like their hardtails to be a bit shorter in any case.
Any ideas? Thanks!
email Dan at stanton he'll help I'm sure. any chance of trying it out 1st?
I'm 5'8" on a 16.5" long frame fits me perfect. each person is different I guess.
thanks bruneep will do. The 16.5" long has pretty much the same reach as the 18" (428mm/425mm) so might not be too far off... no can't try it first unfortunately...
I think both long frames would fit you, though obviously stack/reach slightly longer on the bigger size.
I'm 5'10 on a good day, I have a medium Slackline. If I were to buy a Switchback (always wondering how they compare, but that's another argument..) I would go for the 18" long, even though the size chart says that would be on the larger side/ too big for me. My medium Slackline has a 40mm stem and Reverb, and fits well.
Thanks CJ - v helpful...
