I'm looking for something to replace my stolen old shape small BFe 275 and there are none for sale at the minute (and I don't like the look of the numbers of the new one as much as the old one šŸ™ ) so I'm looking at other stuff. The Switchback caught my eye- are they BFe-ish? I want something that isn't too long/low/slack and it has to be steel. Basically, I want my BFe to not have been nicked.

I'll be using 26" wheels cos it's what I like.

Switchback is much more like the new BFe.

How about the current Soul instead? I rode my Mk2 one like I should have bought a BFe and never broke it!

P.S. Bastards nicking your bike! Kill them all!

The Slackline is less of these things that the Switchback.

I'm considering a Soul, yes, but, well, BFe, innit? I've got a BFe mug and everything.

edit- ah, I see, I've got my Stantons mixed up. I should maybe be looking at the Slackline, is that right?

edit again- bastards, indeed.

I preferred the older 26" Slackline to the Bfe I had but can't comment on the newer version Slackline. You'd be able to find either of them 2nd hand if you looked around though.

Kayla

I have a small Bfe frame doing nothing at the moment. If it fits the bill i'd be happy to sell it to you. it's pretty much in perfect condition and needs a good home
email in profile should you need it

Having owned the older BFe now on a Switchback which is still slacker than the new Bfe.

I'd go for the older 26inch 631 Slackline. Also owned that and overall thought it was better than my Bfe - more stable, could run a fork equally well at 120 or 160 without compromises.

Thanks very much for the offer 4130soul, is that a 44mm head tube frame or is it straight steerer?

Just a heads up Kayla, there is a really nice looking 16" Next Gen Switchback frame on PB . I'd be biting the guys hand off at that price.

I went from a 26ā€ BFe to a 27.5ā€ Shan. I was shocked at how much more compliant and comfortable a ride the Shan is. Obviously I’m now running 160mm Pikes instead of the 150mm Revs on the BFe, but even so, the improvement was quite startling.

@Johnhe - that's not a nextgen, that's a MK1 Switchback (chainstays around the bottom bracket are the giveaway)

I saw that one dumbbot, thanks, but I think the BB'd be too low with 26" wheels šŸ˜• I'm possibly sorted now anyway, thanks for all the replies.

edit- small 26" Slackline is hopefully on the way. I emailed Cotic to see if they had any old small BFes kicking about on the off chance but didn't get a reply. Meh.
