Is it me or is this stuff rubbish? Just tried using it again and same problem as before. Cant get it to stick properly or smoothly to the rims (Stans rims too). Am I missing a trick? I've never got it to work but have managed ok with electrical tape, gaffer tape and also with the DT Swiss rim strips.

same here, bubbles up and just isn't sticky enough.

1" wide gorilla tape works a treat though, way cheaper and in the last 6 months seems to work better (no tyre burping)

Worked for me several years ago when I put it on and I haven't touched it since. I did carefully clean the rims before applying the tape.

Clean the rim and stretch the tape as you apply it. Mines never bubbled or not stuck right first time. Gorilla tape is okay until you need to remove it in which case it takes hours to clean the rim properly.

sand the rim bed and then clean with alcohol, no problem sticking the tape on when I do it.
Pretty sure this was JRA advice, can't find it now tho and stan's videos don't seem to say anything about sanding.

Bubbles are a different matter
grrrr

Not had a problem.

Clean rim with a bit of wire wool before applying. Nice stretch when applying. Been on for couple of years and not given it a second thought. It may have bubbled up but if it has, i've not noticed/cared.

Degrease, lightly sand, stretch it as you apply (all as per instructions) and work with the wheel in a trying stand or in the drop outs. Apply 6" at a time and it's always worked nicely.

Low residue degreaser such as disc cleaner is good.

And stick a tube in the tyre for 24-48 hours after applying the tape.

I found leaving it in a warm place to make it more pliable helped.

never had a problem - you do need to pull it tight as you lay it down though

I just tried a very light sanding. Much better now although still feels like the tape would be much easier to use if it was a bit stickier and a bit more flexible.

Never had a problem, the first time I used it I was meticulous about cleaning the rims as per the instructions, but since then I haven't bothered with the cleaning (on multiple rims) and always just applied it without problem.
