My new bike I specced with DT Swiss wheels which came tubeless ready with a set of tubeless valves. Someone is lending me his Airshot, so apart from some sealant, do I need anything else bar YouTube and patience?
Nothing. I've recently done 4 as above with an airshot and some fluid.
All good
Managed to get mine seated with a reasonable track pump.

this... yet to fail in fact 8)
though i have been very, very close to calling it quits on occasion!
I got a Schwalbe Doc Blue kit which is 500ml rebadged Stans, a 60ml squeezy dosing bottle and a valve core remover. And then next time I was on wiggle, a couple more £1 core removers to get free postage.

The purpose of which is to top up the fluid easily when my tyres don't need replacing, or adding the fluid more easily after seating new tyres.
Should be fine, spoke keys do valve cores (or some lezyne pumps 😉 ) and a pair of pliers works fine along with a small adjustable but the proper tool is great to have.
500ml stans lasts long enough for me that I just pick one up when I need it, airshot us useful to have on the first go as a backup.
Ta muchly.
You need some groovy tunes for the stans dance.
/\ 🙂
amen to that - play that funky music and get your shake on
Stans race fluid is supposed to last lots longer, if you haven't already bought. Haven't tried it yet, but I'll be using it this evening.
It's gloopier too, so can't be syringed into valve, but as I opnly ever change fluid when I change tyres, it's no biggie.
There is tubeless tape in place around the rim, isn't there? Some rims are advertised as 'tubeless ready' but this means they have the capability, rather than actually already being fully taped and set up.
I normally inflate the tyre I want to seat tubeless with a tube overnight so that it holds shape better when I come to do it tubeless.
As well as the music, having a good selection of swear words handy can be helpful.
If they go up first time easily the tyre is on the wrong way round or you forgot to align the logos with the valve.
