Anyone else had them start to crack round the spoke holes?
Tension on the spokes doesn't seen particularly high either and they're almost running true and have no flat spots.
Just been to check mine (bought and built in jan 2017),all fine ,no cracks. But from the looks of that other thread,it looks like a problem.
Cheers kimbers.
This must be rider-weight related no?
My mate is no heavyweight, rides hard, but not DH, his lasted <6mths
My rear rim cracked after about 9 months - is currently being replaced under warranty by the distributor.
Wheel builder has forwarded pics to importers.
Say he can't see why they wont replace straight away.

Doesn't help, but I'm on the original 340g Alpha rims on my road bike, and regularly slam them into sleeping police men, bunny hop them and generally don't worry about their supposed fragility.
I'm 100kg too.
I'm fairly sure I'll kill them at some point, I always do, but it does point to there being something rider weight causing issues with some Stans rims.
I'm not a wheel building expert, but had a hub swap on a crest mk3 and the LBS pointed out where the rim had been slightly deformed around the nipples in places, and suggested over tensioning during the machine build process.
Is 85Kg classed as heavy for a Mk3 Flow?
My previous Flow rims have all lasted pretty well...
Mk3's are wider and lighter from what I recall.
Looks like the spoke bed may be a little too thin.
the Mk3s are not much heavier than my light bicycle rims
I figured there was some voodoo in there to make them so light & strong
I was planning to get some for my next bike, but Im not sure they would be up to the abuse Ive given my Lbs (im defo on the too many pies end of teh spectrum)

Me too. Two threads have changed my mind.
Just in case anyone else has the same problem and does a search.
They replaced the rim and admitted they've had a few back that have cracked in the same way.
Lets see how long the replacement lasts.
Mine cracked.
flat spotted mine after 3 months
Yup, cracked around all the drive side spokes 9 months in, never had this with flow EX's
Awaiting a reply from CRC.....
My flow ex cracked around the spokes. Currently running crests 🙄
Seems to be standard practice for stans to underbuild the 1st set, have failures and change the extrusion. Get the 2nd round mk3, and they'll probably be a bit heavier but up the job.
