Just picked up new Hope Hoop with Crest rim and fitted 2.2 RQs. I cannot get the tyre to sit evenly on the rim - this is after having defalted tyre (running with tubes for time being) tapped all round and then reflating several times. Anyone had similar problems or suggestions?
more pressure, takes ages
I have a 2.4 rubberqueen in ust and it goes onto my stans flow rims easy as. Maybe try wiping the bead with washing up liquid as that'll stop any friction between the tyre and rim
I've got the 2.2 RQs and run them on Stans no probs (albeit Flows). I always use washing up liquid on the bead and they seal first time. Leave them overnight at 60 psi to make sure they're fully settled as well.
Thanks - will give w-u liquid a try.

Rediscovered this trick tonight after nearly swearing my heart out at a Maxxis Crossmark (non UST) that I was trying to seal.
Anyway, worked straight away after!
Monday morning will be off down the pound shop to buy a few bottles of cheap as chips washing up liquid for said purpose in the future, so I don't deplete the fairy from the kitchen! 😉
I've 2.2 RQs on Stans arches which have a narrower internal width than the arch & they're running no problem.
Go VERY careful pumping up the tyre to 60psi as Sharkymark mentions as the tyre will most likely blow off the rim. I have stans flows and if you take any notice of the recommended tyre width - pressure that is on a sticker on the rim, the hightest that is recommened is 40 psi and thats for a high volume tyre. I ruined 3 schwalbe tyres by going to just 40psi and them blowing off and ruining the bead
Got it to pop in this morning with much w-u liq and bashing. Given this is with a tube in, wondering what will happen if I get puncture on trail...go tubeless I guess or change tyre....
Daft question maybe..but is the yellow tape seated properly so it doesn't interfere with the beading on the tyre?
I had a problem with 2.4 RQs where something tore/deformed in the sidewall, to such an extent that it gave over an inch of wobble on my rear wheel, it couldn't make it past the chainstay. I thought I'd bent my wheel, took it to be trued, but it was perfectly straight on the stand, it was just the tyre. Mounted it on different rims (my own were Flows), same result. Happened the front tyre too, but it was only slight.
