As above - picking some wheels up in t'peaks tomorrow, thought I might try and re-discover this as it's been years.

Is it still fun? No daft trail "improvements"? Realise there might be a few walkers to dodge.

Ta

If you wanted to stay legal, Curbar Edge and Froggatt Edge are now bridleways.
And there's a fast BW running down the Barbrook Valley to link each end.

Is the slabby bit not a bridleway anymore??

The slabby bit (with the wide hairpin corner near the start) is still a bridleway. Its made of slabs so unchanged
It might just have lots of walkers on it though, pick your descent time to suit

Stanage Pole / causeway / plantation are all legal and nice - just watch out for the DCC wheel traps on Long Causeway

Slap on some stupidly extra wide bars and sing ride of the valkyries and head down at peak-rambler time... 😉

The causeway descent off Stanage on that route has been steamrollered - no longer any value as a descent. Take the other one through the plantation, which is good.

Is the plantation descent easy to find Garry?

If you're descending from the Pole as in jsync's route then look out for some singletrack coming off on the left as the doubletrack bends right.

Follow this and bear right and you'll end up on a rocky bit which then switchbacks and drops down through the woods.

Enjoy 🙂
