Somewhere in the midst of the Wainwrights thread someone seemed to be saying that St Sunday Crag east to westish to Grisedale Tarn was good, so I was thinking of a wee loop incorporating that, Grisedale, mines and Seldom Seen.
But then I found this frankly lovely video on an old thread and thought "damn that looks brilliant"

Part of that is probably because it is proper filming rather than more tedious PoV, and the rest is probably comedy value of the awful bikes they are riding. But even allowing for that, it does look excellent. It looks like they do the ridge West to East ( or more accurately sw to ne)

…..sw to ne as it is a lovely descent all the way down to the valley floor. You have no doubt done Grizedale Tarn descent to Ullswater so why not try somewhere new…..or do both ways perhaps in the same day?

Yes, but not for at least a quarter of a century. Did it along with Dollywaggon and hated them both. I seem to recall I'd only just get going and get my toe clips in and then another rocky bit would appear 😄😁😆
Grisedale is a lovely descent. I've not done Dollywagon for a few years but definitely recall it being worth riding
Could do St Sunday EW then down Grisedale.
Cuppa and a cake, then Helvellyn, Dollywagon, St Sunday WE.

That does indeed sound good, or I was thinking of adding a partial Sticks Pass, followed by Seldom Seen descent.
BUT. I've just told Dave I'm unlikely to ride tomorrow. I stupidly did a ride on Thursday which wiped me out after a busy weekend last week. Currently got slightly blurry vision and a headache. Getting up at 7am tomorrow ( and not sleeping in anticipation) wouldn't be a good idea.
I'll give you a shout when I do sort my shit out and go
