Hello my little sausage,

as per our drunken conversations,  give us ( Andy at Stooge and Dan and I at monolith) a shout and we'll happily drop in as one of the sponsors and have a tent with bikes, bars, steel and Ti niche chariots with a Stooge cycles/Monolith Ti components collective.

I'll have something extra silly with me with mahoooosive wheels as well for extra nichewhore attention vortex points 🙂

Genuinely can't wait for this. I missed this years due to family commitments, but have already told my wife not to plan anything for next years!

Sadly it's the same weekend as the Goodwood Revival and the Southern Scale Trail. But it's so close to home

Ooft, was tempted but that's a long way South from me.

Enjoy folks! It's been too long since I attended a SSUK or SSEC event

The joke is that Ringo hasn’t actually got a dog.

Excellent news. Should be a decent turnout from the Central South Downs crowd.

This one is really going to hurt isn't it.

I will do one of these one year. Trouble is, it usually occurs in the same month as our riding group's annual Lakes weekend away, and 2 weekends away from the family on the same month would be frowned upon!

It's a bit of a trek from Yorkshire. Any plans to bring it further north in 2026?

Just trying to persuade some mates to sign up after they all failed to last year 🙂

I'll get there anyway though.

Genuinely can't wait. I'm going on my own, and won't know anyone, but really looking forward to it.

I went on my own last year, and ended up meeting lots of lovely people - SSers are a convivial bunch!

Much fun was had 😎

I'm going alone too and don't think I'll know many people. You can be my friend.

But as anjantom says, everyone is lovely and you'll just become friends with whoever you're camped next to, whoever is next to you on the start line and whoever you sit next to at dinner. I've always gone alone and it's been fine, hopefully I'll recognise some people from previous events but if not I'll meet new ones.

Take whiskey, it's an almost guaranteed way to make friends with singlespeeders.

I've been alone several times, and bikepacked it in various forms which tended to work in my favor, I made it to the IoW and some strangers already a big bowl of Paella waiting for me and we now have an annual(ish) singlespeed trip to Wales(ish) every Januaury(ish).

Looking forward to seeing this year's stem cap colours.

Hope the wildflower pairings are as scintillating as last year's! 🤗

@moff or other local riders...

What's the elevation like? I'm guessing not as steep as last year's thrutchfest in the Quantocks!

It's steepish round here. Wooded South Downs hillsides. Enduro riders get a nice gravel fireroad climb up. I suspect you won't get that luxury. I suppose it depends on the course, but you could make nice long contouring climbs or you could make short utter thrutch chunderfests. It is chalk based so super steep and wet chalk can make for a vertical ice rink though.

I would go expecting steep climbs then you won't be disappointed.

I can't make it, so have a good time everyone.

Officially less climbing than 2024!
Though I can confirm there will be climbs

@Yak, that’s the wrong excuse!
