You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Just booked my place 😀 though camping is sold out so will have to find a space elsewhere 🙁
What are people going to be on then?
Mine's a choice between the '98 IF Deluxe or the drop handlebar Global softail....

Either my El Mariachi or my Tandem,
Once i've sorted logistics and paid the big man.
I'd get in sooner rather than later as I think place are limited to 200 and it's it's half gone as the initial camping was 100.
what is this 'riding' of which you speak?
now, you have contacts with those Otter chaps, don't you?....
I'll see what I can do - trade price is £75 for a 40 pint barrel 😉
there will be loads of Jones, so something more niche from my collection
Nimble 9
My Jones! Go on taz - be great to try your SF 😉
I'll be on my Inbred 29er. Not niche, not boutique just luvverly
almost exactly what I was on today 😉
My Jones! Go on taz - be great to try your SF
I'll chuck that in the truck as well so you can have a go then clink
An 85mm hardtail or a 140mm full suspension
@ tom reckon we'll need more than that. discount for bulk? ( if so, Dave's our man 😉 )
Gonna be interesting setting up and tapping a couple of barrels in a camp site after being bounced around in a car for a couple of hours 😆
Pugsley or Karate Monkey?? That is the question, whether it is nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of low gearing on the Pug or to take arms against a sea of troubles and stick to the Monkey with a higher gear.............
Converted Genesis Altitude hardtail with 100mm travel fork.
(very slowly, gurning a lot)
ta taz 😉
Trying to work out the best way to convert to ss, that's how fun this event looks!
My Pegasus- unless I've succumbed to something more common in the meantime 😉
Is it too crass to reply to the original question with.....
Your mama!!!!!
Nothing. Found out yesterday that its the same weekend I said I'd look after our boys while my wife goes to a university friend's 40th.
Unless I can convince her friend's husband that he wants to go to SSUKG too.
Nothing here too. I've signed up to take my mother and the trouble and strife to Chelsea Flower Show, which is that weekend. I had it in mind, then promised them we'd go, then re-checked the date 🙁
Am tempted by the sound of it but SS bike is still in development.
But will be based on 2005 sworks M5 hardtail with rigid carbon forks, looking forwards to it being finished whether I make it down there or not...

hmm, in my learned opinion I suggest with all that time on your hands you start the homebrew now?
Do I detect excitement as well as beer brewing ?
We'll have 40 pints of my homebrew too - any preferences; porter, ipa or epa?
You in Burchy?
Oooh Ringo - love to see the rest of your Blackcat - that looks tasty!
Me...this:

My Curtis. Although I need to build it first!
Ah ringo, it was you who got that one! Very tasty, one of the best paint jobs he's done.
Fairly old DMR switchback with rebas...
It'll get my arse in gear to sand the frame down and get it reprinted in some garish colour for you all to enjoy....!
DrP
well I was gona bring Peggy, but if Pop's bringin his,and Flash is taking a SS pug, which will clearly shame Frankenfat,I may have to spend some time in the shed, and create another vision of SS loveliness .or something.
(goes off to look for big hammer, mig welder, and angle grinder)
evil cackle,etc....
Blatant plug for my Salsa Selma Single speed frame... Someone could have this ready for SSUK !

One is very shonky, how appropriate.
I'd imagine, like in previous years, that my Solitude will get loaded into the car for the journey, and then hardly get ridden for the entire weekend...
This mountain biking lark is great isn't it! 😀
I'll be on MrSchmancy,
Mwaxxxx
hmm, in my learned opinion I suggest with all that time on your hands you start the homebrew now?
you lot provide the materials and i'll turn them in to landfill for you!
I'll be on a Qoroz belt drive Lefty 29er.
Mrs MTG will be on a Kona Big Unit 29er.
Mrs MTG's daughter won't be riding the event proper, as she's under 18, but will be there with either my old Santa Cruz Blur with gears, or my Lynskey Ridgeline SS 29er.
If all else fails, I'll be carving my own niche and riding the one and only V braked, horizontal dropout 29er with a 120mm rear hub.
KHS Ti hardtail .......
you lot provide the materials and i'll turn them in to landfill for you!
Del, I've got a load of brewing equipment, kegs & stuff, I'm not using at the moment if you're serious. They'll be no, SSEC style, pre-start line projectile vomiting from me on this occasion 'cos I'll probably still be on the wagon come May.
Either my Thorn Raven or a '92 Klein Fervour if I can get a stem sorted for it. (1" quill with 105mm reach/5 deg rise if anyone has one somewhere...)
Still need to persuade the other half but if I manage it I'll be on a singlespeed cross bike. It's not that technical round there after all, however I'm sure I'll be walking both up and down hill.
Like it. Use the cross bike to get the rideability balance right. None of this push up ride down nonsense.
This'll be my weapon of choice after converting to SS tonight.

Based on last nights ride I may have to reconsider my options or maybe it was me that was making the creaky/clunky noise and not the bike. 😕
Not promising anything, but if its not busy (ie if its raining) and the tide is right, we might start on a beach, giving fat bikes an unfair start, but to make it fairer to skinny tyred bikes, anyone naked (it's a nudist beach) can have a head start too.
Nice to see no one worrying about what tyres, how much travel, does my cock look big in this? The trails are all do-able on a rigid cross bike, any MTB will be fine.
I'll shall be singlespeeding my Five and driving down from Surrey in my Audi for the weekend.
Audi parking is on the beach at low tide 😀
I'm in full training swing for the whole two laps.
DrP
(By full training swing, I mean, I've written it down on the interweb, therefore it must happen....)
LOL I'd forgotten about the TWO laps.
I'll shall be singlespeeding my Five.
talk is cheap, need to see this please
Anyone got a cheapish proper 24T SS sprocket thay want to sell/swap/give me at SSUK?
ned, whats that? looks lovely.
Ned - bringing the vice as well? 🙂
Looks like a DeKerf to me?
marko, no, the vice will not be my "plus something" to lug around the course for the prize pot!
Andy R, Yup. Cheers sadexpunk, I quite like it!
Should of had a what's your "plus something" to lug around the course for the prize pot thread or is it like a Secret Springtime Santa.
