all the decent sponsor stuff just goes to the usual suspects anyway and the "in crowd" drink their own beer in the bar

I would like to enter next year, i ride a lot but am not super fit compared to my xc race friends,
Its more of a group ride than a race right?

it's strange really, the 2010 ssec had a daft entry process and cheese, loads of riders got really into it. This years SSUK send in a postcard etc.. seems to have been met with complete apathy from most of the midland singlespeeders I know. Not sure why, but something just seems a wee bit off this year?

if i want to ride an event i will pay for my entry and turn up on the day. im not going to bumlick and send a postcard asking "please let me ride, i think your great"

To be fair I don't think you have to tell them how great you think they are. Written abuse will no doubt get you far.
You could also pay for an entry and not come. That would show em

I went out on me bike and took a nice photo in the snow, It was blooomin' mint! It wasn't that much hassle as I was riding me bike anyhow! I posted it and got 'Accepted', As did everyone else who's sent one in! Infact, I'm gonna go out for a ride on me bike and take another and post it off again and have two entrys! Just for the FUN!!! See you in September It's gonna be mint! I've heard there may even be some cycling involving Stupid 'Niche' bikes! My training is well under way, last week was Badger ales Next week is Wytchwood, then Black sheep, I've already put on 4lbs AMAZING!!!

I think this entry process is a fabulous idea! Certainly a good way to pick out all the dead wood and keep it to a suitable class. This should be done more often and at places like music festivals to keep all the trouble makers out. My postcard is on its way! 😀

I too am utterly outraged that i had to print out a picture and cover it in sellotape. The fact that i had to walk to the end of the road was utterly outrageous!

How dare the organisers demand we have a bit of fun making silly blue peter arts and crafts while they organise camping, course, food, beer and prizes for us. Bastards the lot of them.

Frankly i'm far too busy moaning on STW to carry out this 5 minute job!
