I want an aluminium pompetamine. Does anything of that type exist anywhere.

mtb hub spacing, disc, ss specific 700cc, not stupidly heavy.

My brain has started to drift towards the idea of a SS CX bike, almost by default I found myself poking about the OO site only for there to be very little in stock.

I have no funds for such a purchase but there seem to be some lovely ones about, the real question is disc or not? I'm actually more taken with some of the non disc bikes ATM...

there doesn't seem to be much middle ground between 2kg+ steel frames that meet that and the obscure carbon/alu.. those obscure things will be hard to get and cost a few bob

Just to add exotic fuel to the fire. Rode with David over Xmas - a thing of beauty (Ronny, not David)

I like the idea of discs, but wouldn't go for a Pompetamine being a Pompino owner (heavy).

I keep dreaming of a disc Cinelli Mash SSCX. It'll probably stay a dream though.

That Stoemper looks nice, though I'm too scared to look at prices.

That's not a cyclocross bike.

nope.. but its not too far off the OPs requirement and can be bought for 750.. whereas some of these other things are 2000 USD boutique jobs/import

Nah I want a cx bike. If I was to get a mtb then there are plenty of cheap options - not least from on-one.

I have a pompetamine and it works and is nice enough to ride until you try and drag it up a long hill.

What about the specialized singlecross I can't believe they wouldn't be doing a disc version by now...
