what's good?, need 32T, non ramped 104bcd for SS and 1x9 duties
I use Blackspire Mono Veloce
I use a Renthal and like it, looks nice too.
Goldtec ones are also good.
GOt a salsa one you can have for 20 posted if you want 😉
On-one stainless steel hasn't let me down in a year and a bit of use.
BETD are doing 3mm (3/32") non-ramped chainrings for £15 at the moment.
Steel is good - I have On-One, I believe Surly do one too.
Surly.
the end
just bought exactly one of those, a velo solo one, should get it tomorrow, hopefully.
Like Bimbler, I've just bought one from velosolo, arrived really soon after ordering. Just waiting for some new chainring bolts and spacers from charlie the bike monger.
I've got a Renthal which seems to be doing OK so far.
Had a Thorn before that, which also lasted well. Reversible too.
Surly.
the bend
There fixed it for you 🙂
Using a Salsa ring here with no problems.
On One for me.
Non-ramped Middleburn hardcoat has lasted a while for me...
I got a DMR Saturn ring cheap as chips from CRC. Loads of different colours and sizes.
FSA non ramped ramped ring £15.
i can't seem to find any non ramped middleburns, only ones made for shifting
aren't the velo solo ones just for SS speed chains though, i'd want to run a 9 speed chain
I've had Surly, Blackspire and Salsa. All were good. I never had a problem bending my Surly since it was 5-bolt and I used a bash. The Salsa and Blackspire are much the same as each other, but the Blackspire are cheaper (CRC have them on offer in certain sizes at the mo').
Surly Stainless, perfect!
I use a renthal it looks great and no probs with it.
I think the Middleburn rings (the non-slickshift ones) only have a few shortened teeth (2 sets of 3 IIRC), so no real shifting help and should be OK.
Mmm...
If you read Middleburn's website this is explained very clearly. The 'standard' chainring doesn't have ramps and pins and the 'slickshift' does.
Er, that's it!
By far the best quality for the price and they're made in this country. A no brainer really.
Oooh chain ring has just arrived and they do indeed "look" good, no idea of course how they perform
aren't the velo solo ones just for SS speed chains though, i'd want to run a 9 speed chain
They do both 1/8 and 3/32 in "mtb size" about half way down the page
