Anyone tried running a 12-speed Shimano mech/shifter with an Eagle cassette and chain? Chain exploded last night took my GX Eagle mech with it, so curious if anyone has tried a hybrid of the two. Works out about a tenner more to get both SLX shifter/mech than just replace the GX mech
Xtr 12 spd works spot on with gx sram cassette
Works fine for me. XTR shifter with X01 mech/Gx cassette.
(Awaits arrival of Munrobiker on thread)
Doesn't for everyone, apparently it's a smidgen different.
As mentioned elsewhere, works fine with me. XX1 Eagle & XO1 Eagle cassettes on different wheelsets, XTR shifter & mech.
Seems to be good for the vast majority, have only heard of literally one or two instances where it doesn’t.
Chainline will make the difference between working/not working. But there's a lot of YouTube vids of riders mixing like this with decent success.
Works for me on NX chain and cassette. I went for a SLK mech with XT shifter in the end but could get the SLX pairing fro less than £80. Try Bike-discount.de for prices.
Works about 98% perfectly with an XTR mech and a 10-50t Eagle cassette, IMO.
I'll tell you when the bits arrive from Germany.
Will be swapping SX mech and shifter for XT, keeping the NX 11-50 chain & cassette.
Sram 12spd cassette, XTR M9100 mech and an X01 eagle shifter. No issues with shifting in any gears. Been running since the start of December with a dozen or so rides. Clutch works, unlike the sram one, bike is back to being silent.
No difference when setting up, did use a new inner and outer cable.
XT shifter+mech on a XG-1275 cassette here. All good.
Everything needs to be straight & true and your cables slickety-boo on 12 though, so if you are a tractor-boy then be aware of this.
