So, I've managed to round off the mounting bolt for my shiny SRAM X9 type 2 derailleur.
After an hour or so fun and games with a saw and screw driver I've successfully removed the broken mech hanger from the derailleur.
Now all that's left to do is change the mounting bolt to one that isn't rounded off (and now missing half its threads...)
I've successfully removed the mounting bolt from a donor X9 (standard) mech without too much problem. Just remove the circlip and the mounting bolt slid out. However I've come to do the same on the type 2 mech and the bolt is well and truly jammed in place it'd seem.
So far I've tried:
Turning it with a pair of molegrips (very difficult to do!)
Blasting with a load of GT85 (doesn't seem to have done anything)
Whacking with a rubber mallet (didn't budge at all)
Do any of the technically minded folk on here have any further suggestions?
