Right hand (9 speed) shifter broke the other week.
I thought SRAM/shimano didn't mix, however the left hand shifter is connected to a Deore front mech.

Now before I go on a fruitless mission to raid spares boxes, will a Shimano 9 speed shifter work with x9?
I understand the cable pull ratio is different for some SRAM mechs, it is quite an old mech, so my suspicion is it won't work..

Any experience??

Ta

SRAM and shimano are happy together with the front mech but rear mech mixing is a no no.

You can fit a 10-speed shimano mtb rear mech to a 9-speed X9 SRAM shifter, with just a little spacer. Quite good because you can get the clutch mech thing, and tbh the Shimano mechs are just better made all round. Otherwise yep only SRAM 9 speed will do you
