Hi,
I currently have a sram x9 double on my whyte 146. I am wanting to change it to a 1x10 setup. Will I be able to fit the x9 crank arm onto a e13 guidering? Probably looking to go for a 34t one. Has anyone done this in the forum before?
Thanks

Following on from monogramman's link, I've now found another way. Changed the Homebrewed chainring over to the X9 crank on my 29er (guess I'm a 1x10 convert) and bought a XO DH spider from Descent Gear (has the advantage of being 104BCD), plus a Hope 34T chainring. The XO spider fits straight on to the X9 arm. This setup is about 60g heavier than the HB ring but means I can easily change to a 32T if I'm off somewhere with bigger hills. 🙂
So you got this http://www.descent-gear.com/truvativ-spider-for-x0dh-chainset-single-speed-p-17045.html
And something like this http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=80579
That right?
Thanks for the posts so far guys!
Yeah, thats exactly what I got. Don't forget some chainring bolts too tho. 😉 The X9 2x10 rings both bolt in to the spider so you can't use them on the XO one.
And there is a difference between the BB30 and GPX spiders so make sure you get the right one.
Sorry for the bump, but what bolts did you get?
I currently have the 120BCD 2x10 (39/26) X0 spider which has shiny X0 bolts, but I take it I'll still have to get other bolts? Any particular size/length bolts?
That's if I can get hold of the spider. Seem to be in short supply. Though I'd rather get an MRP Bling Ring but they're even harder to get in 34t (high demand and MRP have yet to do another production run). Could be looking at months to get that one.
