Looks like the x-sync2 chainrings on the Eagle cranks are 12 spd only, or at least only run with the eagle chain. Does anyone know if I can swap the ring out for a 11 speed SRAM compatible direct mount one from works components?

We are running 11 and 12 speed on ours, always use the SRAM for the twelve but have a mismatch of what was available and offset on the 11 speeds. Hardest part has always been cracking the crank bolt but now got the proper tools for the job instead of a hex key and old handlebar

FWIW I've been running a GX Eagle crankset (supposedly also using x-sync 2 ring) on my 11 speed setup including kmc chain without problem.

Been running the x-sync 2 chainrings with 11 speed for a while now with no issues.

I run an Eagle chainring on and 11 speed cassette with a kmc 11 speed chain with no issues at all. I also run a works components 11speed chainring on and eagle cassette and chain with no issues as well.

Add me to the Eagle ring and 11s everything else camp too. Works perfectly.

Cards on the table, I'm hoping to swap from 2x10 with an SRAM 10 speed cassette and a kmc 10 speed chain to 1x10 and the X0 eagle crank is a good price online. Want to keep the 10 speed rear for now, can't remember if 10 speed works with narrow wide rings? Also still wondering if aftermarket rings fit the eagle cranks i.e. are they the same direct mount pattern as the 11 speed ones as I have those on another bike setup just fine.

All ours aftermarket rings are. The direct mount chain ring is held on with 3 torx bolts but you have to remove the cranks to get to them. To complicate matters the chain rings can be 0mm, 3mm or 6mm offset to get the right chain line.
