Can anyone tell me what the difference over type 2 is please?

Not sure, but hopefully it's fixes to the clutch so they don't need frequent servicing.
Had one with the known "knocking" sound issue under suspension compress, and another that kept sticking forward and the chain would fall off halfway down a trail. The first I ended up putting on the hard tail and problem has gone away, the other I needed fixing quick so ended up buying a replacement. The replacement was fine for a bit but now at times seems to be slack and chain rattles about but then suddenly will be fine again.
Servicing is possible but fiddly. I may get round to servicing mine and flog the spare one, but I've found they last half a year and start getting issues.
