Getting rid of a Sram NX rear cassette and replacing with Shimano. Will the new cassette fit or will I need to do anything with the hub ?

No. NX fits shimano freehubs
The shimano cassette will fit your free hub

That will be a straight swap , it's only the higher 11speed SRAM cassettes that use a different free hub to Shimano .
