if a bike came new with an eleven speed sram cassette, what do I need to fit a shimano ten speed? Or will it just go on? Or do I need an xt driver? Is it removable ? Etc etc

Depends on what sram cassette you have at the moment.

If it’s one that’s got a 10t smallest cog then you can’t fit a Shimano cassette without changing the hub body.

If your current sram cassette has an 11t small cog you should be fine but may need a small spacer behind the 10 speed cassette depending on the hub brand and model

Don’t forget that if you swap the cassette to 10sp you’ll need a 10sp shifter and mech too.

Unless the plan is it use the new wheel with a 10sd cassette on another bike that’s already kitted with the 10sp shifter and mech
