I've currently got a crosser with 34/50 cranks and 11-32 cassette id ideally like to run a smaller set if chainrings I just found out my crank has a 3 bolt removable spider and different ones are available if I manage to find rings to suit is there any reason why a 28/44 crank won't work as it'll still be a 16t jump, also can i run mtb 10 speed rings on an 11 speed road set up

Thanks in advance

28/44 would work fine, its actually a (relatively) larger jump between the two, but with a massive (for 2x) 11-32 out back, it'll be fine.

10 speed rings will work fine on a 11 speed chain afaik

correct. But not the other way round. Inner chain dimensions are the same but 10sp chains have thicker plates so foul 11sp cassettes

Watch out when buying for the pin that stops the chain dropping down between the chainring and the crank. Some aftermarket rings have this differently oriented as I discovered.
