Any reason why I couldn't swap out my TRP Hylex lever with a SRAM Rival lever?

Looking to go from SS to 1x11 while replacing as little as possible (also suspect the TRP caliper might be better) so thinking Rival lever, long cage mech and a shimano XT 11-42 cassette

No, the Tektro's use mineral oil (shimano fluid) and SRAM use DOT4/5.1

Darn it - when are shimano going to sort their s&*t out for a good 1x11 road/cx rig

How about these from Gevenalle? Should do exactly what you're after and they have options to work with either Shimano road or mtb derailleurs.

@jakd95 I have seen those but wasn't sure about them - looks like it might be an odd position for the shifter but I do like the compatibility factor of them.

Might look at the Tanpan solution from wolftooth...

See I really like the Gevenalle solution, partly because of it's somewhat clunky, unconventional appearance...

The other option to consider is perhaps trying a bar end shifter?
An SRAM SL-500 Aero shifter would work I think?

slightly prettier, no need to change or mod the brake lever, but slightly trickier to operate...

Yea not sure I would get on with a bar end shifter, I think I'd prefer the Gevenalle rig.

Just replace the calipers as well, it's not the end of the world.
Flog the Trp calipers to recoup some funds.

You could get the Di2 kit for your hylex levers and go that route? My Hylex have been superb brakes.

Edit...will leave the post there but appreciate it's not particularly helpful given the groupset level you were originally targeting!

Yea, I saw the Di2 kit for the Hylex that would be the best solution but will probably just get rival throughout - Di2 is way too pricey for me & I'd probably need a new frame too!

I could be tempted by the hylex set-up (dependant on condition) if you want to recoup some cost........
