My rear mech has started playing up, and I can't work out what's going on. It's a SRAM GX with a Type 3 clutch. If I push the bottom jockey wheel forwards so that the whole cage moves, and then let go, it doesn't spring back with the usual force - it just very slowly moves back, and eventually stops. This obviously means it's not tensioning the chain properly. I've Googled to the best of my ability, and can find all manner of other problems, but nothing which describes this particular issue. Has anyone got any suggestions please? I'm desperately hoping it's not a clutch issue, as I gather the Type 3 are not adjustable? I don't mind doing more investigation about solutions if I can work out what the actual problem might be...
Unfortunately does sound like the clutch.
I've had 2 do that. One under warranty fortunately. They just seem to loose the will to live eventaully!
Gutted! Thank you both. What's most frustrating is that it seems to have given up while just sat in the shed! Absolutely fine when I put it away, and now completely jiggered. Grrr....
