Found a PG-1230 thanks to classifieds on here (cheers Lee)

My mates Whyte E-150 is off the trails due to snapped chain. New one slips horribly on his worn cassette.

Looking around I’ve found one on eBay for £250! Seems supply and demand is taking full effect on the bike world. Never seen stuff for more than RRP before.

It's a real hassle.
Try the less usual UK shops - Decathlon, Halfords. I have just bought 2 dub bsa bbs from decathlon. Couldn't find them in stock anywhere else.
Or German shops - bikester, R2,
Or Spanish - Mantel

Thanks, I am browsing across Europe and should be ok with duty with it being about £100 I think.

Decathlon good shout but no joy, even when looking at store stock for click and collect.

Don't feel tied to the NX ones, Sunrace make very good alternatives.

It's a bit of a pain at the moment.

By the time I found a spare 12 speed chain, my cassette had worn too much to accept it! Now running it into the ground.

I think when it wears I'm going to nick the 10 speed 11-36t cassette of my (now rarely used) commuter.

Maybe we'll all be single speeding in a few months?? Time to stock up on single speed cogs.

Yeah I’ve used them in the past but seem like gold dust too!

Sunrace work really well as an alternative. Probably better than NX.

If prices are still very high it might be worth looking at GX and getting an XD freeub too. GX cassette and XD freehub will be less than the £250 option on ebay.

You’re probably right, the local shop had an XD body but those cassettes seemingly impossible too.

Only ones on eBay are Clarks? I’ve only had experience (rubbish) of their brake pads.

I bought a GX Eagle chain in Feb for £20.

Same chain same supplier £55! Thin on the ground elsewhere...

I'm trawling Ali Express (where I bought some ZTTO 12 speed cassettes which are okay) for something half decent looking as there's no chance I'm paying that!

Sram cassette availability is going to get much worse before it gets better. If you find what you want, don't hesitate to get one.

Alltricks (France) worth a try too. Found a GX on XD for £165 delivered. Ordered stuff from them pre-Brexit and they've been great, so fingers crossed this time...

It's all a bit nerve racking riding a mtb at the moment, hoping nothing breaks and ruins the summer.
