I have a SRAM NX 11 speed groupset.
Yesterday I was giving the bike a clean. I always go through my gears after lubing and it wasn't shifting great. I tried to index, but noticed the cable was fraying near the cable clamp bolt. I replaced the cable outer and now I cannot get it indexed at all!
It goes up, but to bring it back down the sockets it just struggles and sometimes to do it I have to take release the cable from the bolt. I just don't get it. The outers are fine and still quite new.
I spent almost an hour of tweaking and just prior to throwing it through the wall I checked the chain wear. It's almost dropping in at .75, but surly this couldn't be the issue?
Any help appeciated.
Could just be a draggy(corroded inner cable) slowing it down if you didn't replace that?
.
Sorted it. On the rear mech there is a cable wheel. I gave that a lube and put a pipe cleaner through it. Turns out it was that.
Re-read my post. I was supposed to say I replaced the inner cable but the outers were fine. I.e I replaced them a couple of months back.
Was going to say I had this issue and resolved it by liberally cleaning/dousing the rear mech in GT85.
