anyone have a solution to the s**t bearings idea on my sram jockey wheels.
Read that Nx are bushed so are they the way to go or just keep replacing bearing.
Love the way the narrow wide hold onto the chain so would like to keep them just the bearing life is a little short so any answers please.
Cheers Simon

Have you already pressed new bearings in them mate, in the past?

Tbh, the only set of SRAM jockeys I’ve had a total bearing failure on were a few winters ago when I was riding several times a week and squirting Fenwicks FS-whatever degreaser all over them/the drive train after every ride. After I’d replaced them I stopped doing that and used soapy water and a brush instead, and the problem went away. I might be adding two and two for five but I decided my cleaning routine was the problem.

This probably won't help you, but I found the NW jockeys a pain to clean, and they failed very quickly. I went Hope 12t in the end & they've worked a treat.

Original GX ones seized a couple of times, pressed in new bearings, they seized too.

Apex/NX bushed replacements lasted a whole CX season no probs. Think bearings in jockey wheels are just a bad idea...

I had gx bearings seize - I took the beating covers off and cleaned them out / packed them with grease and they were good to go for a while. Always felt a bit wobbly though so I stuck NX bushes ones in instead. I haven’t ridden them loads since - about half the summer and a few winter rides so far. Still good as new.

Got another gx mech on my hardtail thirst I’ve being riding for the winter so it’ll probably have the bearings go the same way.

I see the NX jockeys don't have the circular ridge around them to stop the chain getting wedged in the cage and ripping the mech to bits?

That said, the reason it might get wedged is because the bearings are seized..... So the NX jockeys might cure that and not need the raised ridge? Who knows.Lol

I just got a few sets of cheap, shitty bearings off of Amazon, they’ll last long enough and two whacks with a hammer (one out and one in) will replace them next time too.
