I had a fairly big crash in Les Arcs and managed to snap the pivot pin on the right matchmaker clamp. I presume it’s a sacrificial bit to protect the brake lever and shifter from damage.

£35 for a matchmaker clamp from the bike shop in Bourg!

I figured I’d repair the old one to have as a spare, and it turns out the pin measures just under 2mm dia (x 18mm), or the same as a spoke. I cut a spare double butted (ie 2mm,1.8mm,2mm) spoke in the middle so I could tap in the 1.8mm end first, trimmed to length and job done.

Thought I’d share in case someone else has the same issue.

Good to know, cheers. It's insane what they charge for those clamps.
