I have level T's on my bike and to be frank I don't like them so am looking to upgrade.

I've seen a few mentions of the new Shimano deore 4 pot brakes and was wondering if they will be a good upgrade from the level.

Also where is the best place to get them from !

Thanks.

Steve.

I've got Level TL on my XC bike and just fitted the non-series Shimano 4 pots on my trail bike.

The Shimano are a lot heavier and really designed for a different application, but they are really powerful! I've only had one ride on them so far, but I'm liking them.

If you're not happy with the Level T, then I think you'll find the Shimano a massive improvement.

I got mine from here (and remembered to swap the levers around before fitting!).

I switched from standard XT to Deore 4 pot, not because I needed more power but to move away from the pumping issues.
I'm really happy with them, not because of the power but because of the modulation, levers aren't as sexy as XT's but I can live with that.
If you want a set of almost new XT's just let me know 🙂

Check out the Bird post about the 4 pot deores:

I've got the 4 pot XT's, they are fantastic. Been reliable, great modulation compared to the older 2 pot XT's I had before and way more power than I'll ever need. Not used those Sram brakes so can't comment on them.

No comment to make other than I could do with a cheap set of brakes for a DJ build. Hit me up one time on the PM all you upgraders!

I already sold my Hopes when they came off my Pace. There was nothing wrong with them (probably some of the best all round brakes I've had), but I wanted to streamline the bleed kit requirements 🙂

Just have Sram and Shimano now.

Deore 4 pots are pretty great - dirt cheap and don't seem to suffer from variable bit point like some of the other Shimano 4 pots.
