Yo,

Just away to shorten my hoses on my guide brakes, and noticed that SRAMs instructional video now omits the degassing stage from the process. Which is a good thing as its a faff!
Is it worth still doing as I'll be using old (opened) fluid, or can we consign this to the history dustbin?

Thoughts - comments -observations - experiences all gratefully received

Thanks!

The master cylinder is more tolerant of air, so you should get away with not degassing with new oil.

Older oil, I'd probably do it to, as its liekly to have taken on more air and moisture.

I'd you're just cutting the hoses, I'd cut at the lever and just bleed the lever for now.

Nice one rickon, thanks - that's what I've done and it seems to be ok ... Test ride shortly!
I hate shortening hoses, can never seem to get it just right, rear still a bit long, humph...
