Not feeling the love for these on my Spesh Levo SL and having always used Shimano am thinking about swopping them over to XT 4 pots. Any views of this being a worthy upgrade ?
I have an xfusion dropper so will need to work out how the remote will mount too (it is currently on the brake lever).
Any thoughts ?
Sorry I don't have an opinion on XT 4 pots (as never owned any), but would be interested in buying your G2RSC's if you're selling when (if) you upgrade.
We took the Guide Rs straight off the Levo SL and swapped out for REs as we have on the other Turbo Levos and they are working spot on. We have Saints on the other bikes and although the Saints have more adjustment the REs are on par with them.
We also swapped out the RSCs on the new Enduro and replaced with our spare Saints. RSCs in the garage loft with the rest of the spares
The REs are the only Guide brakes I have had confidence in.
You can get the Dropper lever attachment from Ebay, our last couple came from Ireland in a couple of days.
I have a new lever and attachments for the X Fusion Manic if you want to swap for the Specialized one.
Tracey, thanks for that, I prefer the feel of Shimano having used them forever.
NS, have messaged you back, happy to do that, cheers.

My experience of XT 4 pots is that they feel a bit different to normal shimano brakes - more progressive with less of a fierce grab as they engage. Worth being aware of if you're after the usual shimano bite.
Just changed XTR 2 pots for XT 4 pots, mainly due to one lever getting damaged and a good deal on a full set of 8020s.
I am a shimano man, not a fan of SRAM brakes, mainly due to the feel and the oil used, the XTs are the best i've used so far, and that's SLX, XTR and the XT being used on my 3 bikes at present.
I would consider that a downgrade.
Too many hit & miss issues with Shimano brakes, plus I am definitely not a fan of the on off feel. Still there with the XT 4 pots, although not as bad as the older brakes, they still feel like sh*t compared to a decent set of Guides or Codes.
Thanks for all the advice and thoughts, will get them swopped over in next week or so.
Much the same.
Saints, Codes or V4’s For heavy bike with big rotors.
Just to add a different perspective: think I've used every version of Guides on various bikes over the past few years and have always been hit and miss. Have G2 RSCs on my current YT and they are excellent; good power and modulation.
