Morning all,
I have the aforementioned brakes and am changing the bars on my Free Ranger. The new set has internal cable routing whereas the standard Selcof bars didn't so will need to disconnect the hose from the levers which is something that I've never done before. Will I need any additional parts for this and is it as straightforward as it sounds?
If you look on the SRAM website there should be a service manual that will tell you what’s involved.
If they’re anything like my Rival shifters it’s a PITA but doable. The only think that you might not have is a miniature Phillips head screwdriver and (I think) a T10 torx.
It’ll be easier if you’re replacing the whole front end too.
They’ll need a rebleed after too.

Ideally you need a new brass olive, but you might get away with just re-using the existing one.
You'll also need to rebleed the system.
I bought the Epic Bleed Kit for SRAM road brakes, worked perfectly first time for installing a new SRAM groupset.
I've had a hunt on the SRAM site for the manual. It appears pretty straightforward providing you can reuse the original olive and hose. I couldn't see in the manual how to remove the banjo without cutting it off which I'd rather avoid doing. Is there a way to remove it without cutting so it can be internally routed through the bars or should it fit without needing to be removed?
How did you remove the original olive?
I'm currently on shift so don't have the bike to hand for reference.
I have the Epic bleed kit for my Formula brakes and was hopeful that would be sufficient for these as Sram/Formula crossover. Will this not be compatible with the bleed ports for the Force Brakes?
You don't have to use the internal routing if you don't want to - it'll be tidier and more flush, and suit the bar design, but you can still just tape it as normal...
Thank you for pointing out the obvious however the point of the post being that I would like to route them internally and am enquiring what parts I would need to do so and any other advice to that effect.
